The steps of cleaning hospital beds

Cleaning a hospital bed isn't overly complicated. It is important that you simply adhere to sanitary measures, and strive to clean even the most remote locations that may be hidden or not quite as obvious.

Step 1:Hand washing

Once you have washed and dryed your hands with antibacterial soap, you can now proceed to put on disposable gloves and a mask

Step 2:You should now disconnect the hospital bed from the wall in order to interrupt any flow of electricity that may be occurring. The scientific basis for this is to simply remove the bed completely from any electric source prior to washing it.

Step 3:A damp cloth is all you will need in order to accomplish this simple task.

Spray the germicide onto your cloth in a way that simply dampens it rather than completely saturates the cloth. Wipe down all your controllers and electronic devices gently.

Step 4: Remove the waterproof mattress completely from the hospital bed.

Once you have removed the mattress from the bed, you can now use your can of compressed air to completely remove dust and debris from the outlying bed frame.

Step 5: Once your hospital grade germicidal spray has remained on your bed frame, and mattress, for a few minutes, you will then simply wipe it off. You will want to wipe from top to bottom, until no germicidal spray is visible.

Step 6: For your last and final step, you will simply place the mattress back onto the bed frame and allow both to thoroughly dry.

Do you feel comfortable when you lie on the hospital bed?

I always have a feeling that the hospital bed is dirty, because the people whoever sleep on it are patient. I believe that many people feel the same way.

It is important that everyone who works in a health care setting know how to clean hospital beds prior to and after patient use. Unfortunately, it is expected that, with compromised human conditions, that people will naturally leave a bed filled with bacteria and harmful germs.

These bacteria can live and grow on solid surfaces. This is why it is important for health care professionals to clean hospital beds. Not only does it provide for a healthier work environment, but families of patients will also be happy that this has occurred prior to their loved one using the hospital bed. With the patient ultimately as the center of our considerations for care, cleaning hospital beds prior to use conveys a warm regard for patients' holistic needs.

Taliban Leader Wearing Burqa Killed

KABUL, Afghanistan - Gunbattles and airstrikes by NATO and Afghan troops killed 53 militants in Afghanistan, including a wanted Taliban commander who tried to hide from Soldiers under a woman's burqa, officials said Saturday.

The U.S. forces targeting the commander surrounded a house Friday in Ghazni province and ordered everyone inside to leave, a military statement said.

Six women and 12 children left the building, but while Soldiers were questioning the women they discovered one was actually a man dressed in a burqa, the traditional all-encompassing dress that most Afghan women wear. The man, later identified as the targeted commander Haji Yakub, tried to attack the Soldiers and was killed, the military said.

Yakub allegedly directed roadside bomb and suicide attacks against Afghanistan's government and coalition forces in Ghazni, according to the statement. Three other militants were killed in the operation, it said.

Meanwhile, Afghan and coalition forces killed 33 militants when their patrol came under attack in southern Helmand province Friday, a military statement said. The troops responded to the attack with gunfire and air support, it said.

In Kandahar province, meanwhile, a three-day NATO-Afghan operation in Zhari district killed 12 militants, said police Chief Matiullah Khan. No police were killed in the operation, which finished on Friday, he said.

Police in western Farah province said they killed four insurgents setting up a makeshift base in a village, apparently aiming to launch strikes on Farah city.

Residents of Raj, about two miles (three kilometers) north of Farah city, tipped off officials that a convoy of enemy fighters had arrived in the village, provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Ghafar Watandar said.

Afghan army and police attacked the nine-vehicle convoy, killing four insurgents and wounding another three as other insurgents fled, Watandar said. An Afghan police officer was also killed in the gunbattle, he said.

Afghanistan has seen a spike in violence over the last two years as more international troops pour into the country to battle a growing militant insurgency. Some 65,000 international forces now operate in Afghanistan.

More than 5,800 people have died in insurgency-related violence this year, according to an Associated Press count based on figures from Afghan and Western officials.
Thanks for Westrooper, a military boot manufacturer, who provide the specific details.
